Currently I am finishing tracks for my second album, as a follow up to my debut album Out of the Dark which I released last year to warm reception which included me being asked to appear for three days at Glastonbury 2008 Festival where I was lucky enough to share the stage with such wonderful artists as Joan Baez, Suzanne Vega, Sinead O Connor, Seasick Steve and The Blockheads to name but a few. Alongside appearing at many of Ireland's leading festivals I was also approached by the BBC to record a track, Get Here, for their T.V. promotion campaign in George Martin's Air Studio in London. This year I have taken part in two T.V. shows for R.T.E. One of which is for the highly acclaimed music programme Other Voices along with Eric Bibb,Christy Moore, Duke Special, Elbow, Lisa Hannigan, Mick Flannery Billy Bragg and many more and also taking part in an interview with RTE's John Kelly. The second is a documentary piece for the most watched R.T.E. series Nationwide, both of which will be going out early this year. Alongside this I will be appearing alongside Paul Brady for the re opening of the newly refurbished Ulster Hall and also at the renowned Celtic Connections Festival in Scotland among other projects in the coming year.

BIOGRAPHY
After releasing her debut album, 'Out of the Dark', in November Grainne has been receiving some of the best praise an artist could ever ask. In England the buzz has certainly started with Classic Rock commenting 'In a world of chick rockers, Duffy is the real deal. Label bosses get your cheque books out sharpish'. While Guitarist devoted a whole front page to the artist saying her debut album boosts 'bluesy Americana from Ireland with genuine worldwide potential', adding what they love most about her is that she has a 'husky voice and plays a mean blues guitar'. Guitar Techniques continued this well deserved praise commenting 'she plays with both style and feel' and is a 'thoughtful and melodic guitarist', 'her playing is bursting with personality'. Aside her guitar playing it seems Grainne's voice and songwriting have been drawing in fans far and wide. Recently Grainne was approached by the BBC to offer her original take on the Oletta Adams cover 'Get Here if you Can' which is currently featured in their advertisment on BBC1 and BBC2 promoting programming on Monday nights on BBC. The track was recorded in none other than The Beatles producer George Martin's renowned Air Studios in London, featuring the talents of former Eric Clapton drummer Ian Thomas, ex Van Morrison and Madonna bassist Steve Pearce, James Hollowell, currently working with David Gray, on Hammond and Piano and Richard Ashcroft's sideman Adam Philips on guitar. Following on from such Grainne has recently been invited to appear at Glastonbury 2008 with her band on the acoustic stage alongside Joan Baez, Suzanne Vega, Sinead O Conor, Seasick Steve, Glen Hansard and The Blockheads. This year she has performed as opening act to Robben Ford and The Yardbirds.
